Since his admission to the Bar in 1996, Mr. Parra has dedicated his career to protecting victims of serious injuries and their families against insurance companies who wrongfully deny benefits. During the course of his career he has gained valuable experience in the interpretation of complicated insurance contracts and policy language. Mr. Parra continues to educate himself and others on the challenging and constantly evolving laws governing auto insurance. He has successfully litigated hundreds of cases involving serious personal injuries.

Mr. Parra’s practice also includes the representation of clients in the area of employment related disputes. He has achieved numerous settlements on behalf of employees who have been discriminated against by large corporate employers based on disability, age, gender, race, ethnicity, and whistle blowing. These settlements have often included reinstatement to positions after termination, negotiation of severance packages, collection of back-pay and other money damages.

Harold Parra has continued to donate his services for clients with limited financial means and has often donated his time to advance a worthy cause. Mr. Parra and his partner Steven Cahn have recently been recognized by members of the community for their pro bono victory in Piscataway et. al. v. Texas Eastern Energy Corp. in the Federal District Court of New Jersey. This was a landmark case that the law firm handled for no fee. The law firm represented residents of a certain neighborhood against a large pipeline company and stopped the removal of 55 long standing shade trees. This achievement in protecting the environment received national press attention and was a precedent setting victory for property owners.

In 2012, Mr. Parra received the honor of being reappointed Municipal Prosecutor of the Township of Woodbridge, serving in such capacity since his original appointment in 2009. Mr. Parra also continues to serve the public as a member of the Board of Trustees to the Piscataway Public Library and as a legal advisor to Piscataway Public Cable Television.

Mr. Parra has developed successful trial experience using legal software programs and advanced computer-assisted demonstrative evidence programs such as A.D.A.M. (Animated Dissection of Anatomy for Medicine), PowerPoint, and Sanctions II. His advanced knowledge of this leading edge technology has paid off well in the courtroom where Mr. Parra has developed a reputation as one of the most innovative and energetic trial attorneys in New Jersey. Through the use of these skills he assisted in leading a trial team that received a $15 million dollar verdict in a complex products liability case against Ford Motor Company.

Mr. Parra has been chosen by other attorneys to serve as an arbitrator and has taught continuing legal education courses. He has also published an article in The National Law Journal regarding the use of high tech technology in the courtroom.

Mr. Parra has also devoted his skills to other areas of the law, including worker’s compensation, matrimonial, public entity representation, as well as municipal and criminal matters. Additionally, Mr. Parra has developed a large Latin-American community clientele who prefer his ability to communicate in Spanish.
