William S. Peck joined the law firm of Cahn & Parra in March of 2007. Mr. Peck has handled a multitude of cases in numerous areas of law, including both civil and criminal matters. He graduated cum laude from Rutgers College in 1996, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Minor in Music. Mr. Peck next received his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1999.
While in law school, Mr. Peck served as a judicial intern with the Honorable Michael A. Petrolle in Essex County and was a Summer Associate at the Law Firm of Morgan, Melhuish, Monaghan, Arvidson, Abrutyn & Lisowski.
Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Peck served a Judicial Clerkship with the Honorable Michael A. Petrolle in the Law Division of the Superior Court, Essex County. At that time he completed training in mediation and conciliation coursework. Mr. Peck was admitted to the practice of law in 1999 and joined the Essex County Prosecutor's Office in 2000, serving as a Special Deputy Attorney General / Assistant Prosecutor. While serving as an Assistant Prosecutor, he handled a wide range of criminal matters.
Mr. Peck next joined the law firm of Gill & Chamas as an Associate Attorney in 2002. His practice areas included personal injury, medical malpractice, automobile accidents, slip and fall accidents, wrongful death, products liability and municipal court matters.
Mr. Peck next joined Esquire Litigation Solutions, a nationwide litigation support company, as a Litigation Consultant in June of 2004. In 2005, Mr. Peck was promoted to the position Director of Trial Consulting at Esquire Litigation Solutions. In this position, he headed a team of fellow attorneys, psychologists and sociologists who performed litigation strategy consultation for various law firms and companies. This included consulting on various projects and topics, including courtroom technology, pre-trial preperation, graphic and demonstrative evidence, jury selection, electronic transcripts, video management and electronic database creation.
In addition to supervising the department, Mr. Peck continued to be the lead consultant on numerous trials, settlement conferences, mediations, mock trials, focus groups and arbitrations as well as depositions and pretrial hearings. He was involved in several multimillion dollar cases for both plaintiff and defense throughout the country. With a focus on modern technology, Mr. Peck has used his vast trial experience and expertise to aid in the selection of dozens of juries in both civil and criminal cases as well as to develop theme and presentation strategies and create graphics and demonstrative evidence used during mediations, arbitrations, pre-trial hearings and trials.
Mr. Peck is admitted to the practice of law in the State of New Jersey and the U.S. District Court of New Jersey. He is a member of the Amercian Trial Lawyers Association, NJATLA, Middlesex County Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, and the American Society of Trial Consultants. Speaking engagements include numerous CLE courses for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute & Dispute Resolution Institute, as well as many New York, New Jersey & Pennsylvania CLE courses in Courtroom Technology and Electronic Data Discovery. He has also given presentations at many law firms and bar association functions. Mr. Peck has extensive knowledge of computer presentation software and applications including Sanction II, Trial Director and Powerpoint.
Mr. Peck employs his vast knowledge of hi-tech legal presentations for the many clients of Cahn & Parra.
